About Me

Mrs. Heath - Math

I have taught middle school math for 12 years, and taught 6th grade and 4th grade the previous two years.  All in all, this will be my 15th year teaching!  I am excited for what the future may bring here at CPMS.

In December of 1999, I graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. in Computer Science.  I worked as a Database Analyst and Programmer for a few years.  As my son got older and my husband hinted that I no longer needed to work as a result of his promotion, I quickly ditched it all and went back for my Teaching Certificate (my first love). . . . and here we are!  (Best decision I ever made!)

I look forward to partnering with parents this school year to provide students with a chance at success and an in-depth understanding of Mathematics.  I know "Math" can be like a 4-letter word to many students (& parents, I might add), but we will conquer this beast and have some fun along the way.  With organization, responsibility and hard work, it will all be OK - success will come to those willing to put in the work to achieve it.

I was born and raised in Dallas, TX - and only recently moved here in December 2020.  I will always be a Cowboys fan at heart, but have learned to also cheer on the Colts.  I am married (20 years in May), and we have one son.  He turned 25 this summer, and is back in Texas with his wife and son.  I am a 3 - time breast cancer survivor!  I have fought and won that battle, and try to help others who are themselves fighting or have relatives/friends fighting that battle.  That is all done and over now, but it was quite a fight!  I've been through it all and I have lots of experience.  I try to take that "bad experience" and turn it into something rewarding by sharing my story and fight with others who are facing it in one way or another.  I feel that if my story can help someone else deal with their own battles, then I'm willing to share it all.    We just finished building a house in Noblesville, so I didn't jump back into teaching when we first moved.  Instead, I served as a long-term substitute in a temporary position until I found CPMS and their offering of a full time position in the Fall.  I quickly jumped on the bandwagon and I'm ready to get started.  We haven't even started school yet, and I already feel at home with CPMS.  It's going to be a great year!

I will leave you with a picture of my adorable "baby,"  Chewie - he's my snuggle buddy when it's cold!  (And it's COLD a LOT up here!  Burrrrr!  I miss that Texas sun!).  I will always be a Texan at heart, and will probably never drop my accent . . . TX is such a large state, there is so much to it and so many wonderful areas to visit.  A few pictures of the life I left behind . . . .
