Discipline & Consequences

Warning - First time a student shows unwanted behavior, they will be given a warning of what he/she should be doing, and what the consequence is, should they not adhere to the warning. The student's name is written down on my clipboard.

1st Step - After the warning, the student does not display the requested behaviors and continues on the wrong path, the student will be given an in-class consequence.  (& parent contact)

2nd Step - If the student is still not showing appropriate behavior, he/she will be given 1-day lunch detention and a parent contact.

3rd Step - If the student is still not showing appropriate behavior, he/she will be given 2-days lunch detention and a parent contact.

4th Step - Continued inappropriate behavior - After School Detention - 1 day & parent contact

5th Step - Student will be issued an office referral - parent contact

** A student may very well pass through all steps in the course of one class period . . . but in most cases, students are redirected and start showing expected behavior before it reaches that point. Each student will have behavior consequences RESET at the end of the Quarter. (Basically, at each break)

** Some behaviors involve more serious incidents and may result in automatic office referral.
